La Pradera has been a family owned farm more than 45 years. The farm is large enough to support the producer, Dionel Chilito of this Geisha lot as well as Dionel’s father and brother in coffee and other agricultural practices. Dionel is invested in improving his quality and cup scores by experimenting with new processing methods. He says he has ‘improved quality remarkably’ by extending the open-air fermentation time to 36 hours and then implementing an under-water fermentation for another 12 hours before washing the coffee – ‘I think it is the best Geisha I have developed so far, I received positive comments and that is why I keep employing this process’.
