Edio Miranda and his wife Maria acquired the 28 hectare Sitio Santo Antonio Do Prado estate way back in 1947. Then, it was a waste land. Edio and has wife have toiled tirelessly to cultivate the land to what it is now – a thriving reliable source of income to support their family.

Edio and Maria’s children are heavily invested in the production and for this reason all processing is carried out exclusively by family members. The family have a strong focus on three sustainability aspects: economic, social and environmental. Their environmental efforts include soil maintenance, preservation of rivers and native species through keeping fertile green belts through the property.

Post-harvest, which is all done manually, Edio has a strict focus on keeping the drying process a long and slow operation, and controlling the humidity level to avoid risks of over fermentation.

The estate is nestled in the picturesque Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro National Park, surrounded by waterfalls and beautiful mountain views.
