Cupping with Felippe of Las Margaritas Farm, Colombia
We had an excellent morning this week with Felipe, the owner of the farm which grew our award winning Las Margaritas Red Bourbon microlot when he visitedour Zest Roastery in Berwick. Felipe animatedly explained the intricacies of the growing and processing of these honey processed coffee beans to our team giving us a much greater appreciation of the effort that goes into the preparation of an exceptional microlot.
After cupping our way through a series of new samples and savouring some V60 brew, Felipe tried an espresso of his own microlot prepared according to our ZXT protocol and with a broad grin pronounced it the best espresso of his coffee that he had ever tasted. Wow, that made us feel good!
