And our partnership continues! Kicking of 2026 with another wonderful coffee sourced through our mates Forest Coffee. This is a delighful washed geisha which brings impressive value for money thanks to the work of Raul Duran.
Raul Duran is a farmer in Tolima who partners with Forest coffee to share his delisious coffees with customers across the world.
Raul is a fourth generation coffee grower, inheriting Beunavista farm from his Father in 2006. Rauls wife, son, daughter, grandaughter and nephew now work on the farm and runs as a family business. Beunavista sits at 1850MASLandnowhasapprox60,000coffeetrees made up of the varities Caturra, Colombia, Castillo, Borbon Rosado, Papayo and of course this geisha!
This particular lot begins by depulping the geisha cherries before a 36 hour anaerobic fermentation in GrainPro bags. This oxygen-free (anaerobic) environment encourages deeper flavours and a futher breakdown of sugars. After the fermentation, the coffee is washed to remove any remaining mucilage. The beans are then sun-dried on raised beds for 20 days.
